Dot NAME Domains
Started in 2001, the .NAME domain extension is the only one supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. At first, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level domains remained working.

You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registrar firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no specific restrictions on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
